What is Site Kit by Google?
Site Kit by Google is another of those All-in-one plugins that unifies several tools in a single pack.
In this case, the official Google plugin, that is, developed by Google itself, integrates the following tools:
- Search Console
- PageSpeed Insights
- Tag manager
According to Google, Site Kit is a one-stop solution for WordPress users to use everything Google has to offer to be successful on the web.
Install and activate Site Kit
We have Site Kit available in the WordPress repository for free, so we can do a search from our own WordPress to install and activate in a couple of clicks.
Configure Site Kit
Once installed and activated, the first thing it offers us is the configuration start screen, a step by step as we can see below
Then you must verify in three steps that you are the owner of the site, allow your domain to connect with your Google account and register the domain in Search Console
We just have to follow all the steps that are indicated on the screen, which is practically giving the application permissions so that it can access the data of our account in Google, verify that we are the owner and register in Search Console, all automatically until you reach the next verification screen.
By pressing the button Go to my Dashboard We return to the administration of our WordPress where Search Console is already activated and we can continue activating the rest of the modules for the tools discussed at the beginning.
You will see it better in the following image.
The plugin has its own section in the left navigation menu of WordPress, to enter directly into each section, settings and to be able to connect various services.
As I mentioned at the beginning of the post, Site Kit is a tool that is very good to have all the information from Search Console, Analytics, PageSpeed Insights etc in a single section like a Swiss army knife.
It is quite simple to configure since we only have to follow the steps without having to do much more than accept on each screen.
Users with little experience in registering a domain in Search Console now have it very easy and uncomplicated since it is the plugin itself that is in charge of doing the domain ownership verification.
If you are one of those who prefers to verify it yourself, you can follow our Google Search Console post, verify the ownership of your domain by adding a TXT record
Revoke the permissions or restart the plugin we can do it directly from our WordPress and in the plugin interface itself.
I hope this installation and configuration guide helps you get this plugin up and running on your WordPress.
